What A Day!
In anticipation of a long journey to Jasper tomorrow, it was perhaps best to have a quiet day and particularly as the weather had turned a little cold (snowed last night). A lateish start was followed by a short trip in the car to Mount Norquay where we were treated to excellent views and a mountainside quietly being grazed by Big Horn Sheep.  With great care to avoid the many pot-holes created by the Marmotts, it was possible to capture some decent pics.

Too early yet to return to town, we decided to drive a little to the west towards Sunshine Village but I turned off the Trans-Canada Highway a little early and we headed into Banff National Park towards Johnston Canyon.

Parking the car in the car park, we proceeded to trek the 2.7km to the top of the 'upper falls' taking numerous pictures along the way and climbing some 120 meters (with all the up's and down's on the way, it felt more like 300 meters!).

This Blog has so far purposely managed to avoid one particular word, as it is used over here all the time and after a while really starts to grate on you. However, when hunting for a word to describe the trek to the top of the upper falls at Johnston Canyon, there is only one word and that's 'awesome' (or 'Ahsm' as they say round here).

Well, that was quite enough exercise for the day and we ended with a return trip to Tommy's in time to have another chat with Mark before he finnished for the day. What a lovely fella!
