Ucluelet
This place is 'spectacular' - there is no other word for it.
We are staying at a place called 'The He-Tin-Kis Lodge'. It's only got three rooms that are rented out (the remainder is ocupied by the owner) and ours is on the ground level, left hand side with a balcony overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It is simply a beautiful spot and within a short stroll of the 'Wild Pacific Trail'. A picture from our balcony taken yesterday evening:
So, having purchased some provisions, we spent the evening watching the sea eagles (Bald Eagles) that frequent this spot.
The morning heralded a sunny day (today) so we went for a wander along the coastline and found an active sea eagle nest. And the scenery (again) is just wonderful!
Of course it's important to pay attention to warning sign's - especially this one!
We have not seen a whale as yet, but we have seen California Sea Lions and I have spotted some dolphins. So it's all good! We will head into the small coastal town of Ucluelet later this afternoon and probably spend this evening on the balcony watching the sun go down and listening to the gentle swell of the sea against the craggy shoreline. Ahhh... It doesn't get better than this!!
